BAREFOOT COLLEGE, BOKO |
Bosco
Barefoot College is the fruit of long years of experience
in working in the rural sector. BBC is a college
established in the rural settings to train the most
underprivileged and marginalized in sustainable
skills. The six-month long training equips the young
to choose and to start an income generating work.
Once out of ‘college’, they are followed
with monthly meetings of the Bosco self-employment
cooperative they have formed. Various governmental
and non-governmental organizations like UNESCO,
DRDA, RGVN, SIRD, Community Poly-technique cell,
Block office, etc., are collaborating with DBYES
in this innovative venture.
Bosco Barefoot College was formally inaugurated
on 15 February 1999. Since then, it has come a long
way from its humble beginning and has grown into
a well-equipped Centre for skills training. The
newly set up BBC was blessed and inaugurated on
January 31, 2003. |
Location
Bosco Barefoot College is located in the premises
of Don Bosco, Boko, a rural township about
