Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Govt of India, has a central mandate of rural poverty alleviation. To this effect, many programs and schemes have been designed and implemented by the ministry through its state rural development departments (SRDD) and the district rural development agencies (DRDA). The SRDD and DRDAs form the governing and nodal agencies for these schemes.
With a primary focus of ensuring inclusive growth for the rural youth population, MoRD has designed a scheme for short term skill development and placement program for the rural BPL youth under its existing Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY) special projects.
DB Tech is identified as the implementing agency of this project. Market and placement oriented short term vocational hands-on training programs like ITeS, Sales & Marketing, Retail, Hospitality, Automobile mechanism, Nursing assistants, Electronic mechanics, AC and Refrigeration, etc., are being organized by Don Bosco Institutions across India.
Apart from the above technical skills, the trainees will be given Don Bosco plus modules, viz., life skills, soft skills, social skills, coping mechanisms, communicative English and computer applications, complete with placement interface to enable them get employed after the training. DBI, being part of DB Tech India, organizes job oriented courses for the poor deserving students. |
